York County Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Center
A county-wide effort to build safer, healthier communities—starting here in York County, Maine.
The York County Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Center, opening at the end of 2026, will be a pioneering resource for adults (18+) in York County, Maine who are battling substance use disorder. The center will provide 24/7 compassionate, individualized care in a safe, supportive environment, with a strong focus on trauma-informed care and holistic healing.
What sets this facility apart is its full continuum of care—including detox, long-term residential treatment, and ongoing aftercare—all under one roof. Each individual will receive a personalized treatment plan designed to support their unique recovery journey and promote lasting wellness.
York County has faced significant barriers to treatment, including a severe shortage of detox and residential beds, limited access for uninsured individuals, and the absence of a single facility offering comprehensive care. The new center will fill this critical gap, making it easier for people to access help when they need it most and reducing the strain on local hospitals and emergency departments.
By addressing both the immediate and long-term needs of those affected by substance use disorder, the York County Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Center will play a vital role in supporting individuals, families, and the broader community as they work toward recovery and hope for the future.
